Boyzone regret tour after Stephen Gately died
The Irish boyband - made up of Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Ronan Keating and Shane Lynch - performed together two years after their late member passed away in 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition, but they admit it wasn't the right time and proved emotionally draining.
Mikey said: ''We did a tour about two and a half years ago, our first tour after Stephen passed away, and we were all very emotionally unstable. We hadn't grieved correctly at all. It was quite awful to be honest with you.''
The group are rejoining as a four-piece for a one-off TV special '20: No Matter What' to mark their 20th anniversary, and Ronan is confident they're in a different head space now and are ready to perform without Stephen.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph newspaper, he explained: ''I think it was a bad idea. Looking back on it now, I didn't enjoy the tour. I think we all felt that. Now we're ready.''
