Lorde To Perform at Grammy Nominations Show, But Will She Win in 2014?
If history is anything to go by, Lorde could be the winner of a Grammy come 2014.
The Grammy Awards are now only a few months away, and we will find out Friday (December 6) who could be taking home the gold. If the nominations concert is any indication, this year's award show will be full of a variety of different genres, and artists new and old.
"This will be the greatest number of people to see her in one place at one time," show producer Ken Ehrlich said, according to the Associated Press.
Also joining Lorde for the concert will be Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, as well as Keith Urban and Bill Withers. Robin Thicke, T.I. and Earth, Wind & Fire will be singing their version of 'Blurred Lines' (hopefully foam finger-less this time).
Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have also lent pre-taped performances for the show.
If past years are any indication, the performers are likely to garner at least a few nominations. In 2012, Mumford & Sons performed at the concert, and ended up taking home the Album of the Year Grammy for Babel.
Lorde, Katy Perry, Daft Punk, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are the reported frontrunners for Record of the Year, with names like Florida Georgia Line, Imagine Dragons and Pink being thrown in the hat as well.
Lorde is also the frontrunner of possible nominees in the coveted Best New Artist category, which also includes artists like Kacey Musgraves, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
