Style expert Stacy London is no stranger to the fashion scene, but she recently got involved in a different type of "fashion" all in the name of 3D Printing Day.
General Electric dubbed Dec. 3 the first-ever "3D Printing Day," as a way to encourage people to create 3D printing presents for the holidays. The company teamed with celebrities, including London, to help come up with their own 3D printing gifts.
London worked with CAD designer Spencer Wright to create a lucky black cat brooch, modeled after her cat, Baby Al. The former host of TLC's "What Not to Wear" told CBS News, "The hole in the cat's ear isn't just for character: add a chain to make it into a necklace or a keychain to bring luck with you into the new year. A hinge and catch on the back does the trick to wear as a brooch to holiday parties."
Read on to find out what London told us about fashion trends and life after "What Not to Wear":
On 2013 trends: "I think plaid is staying in the mix for a while, but grunge didn't really get the traction as a trend it was looking for this year. Aside from distressed denim, leave the rips and tears for the sweats you wear when you're home with the flu."
On what we’ll see in 2014: "A lot of what we've been seeing, black and white, bright vibrant colors, ballet inspired skirts and oodles of crop tops. Get those crunches in now, peeps."
One item to add to the closet for 2014: "It's so hard for me to answer this question for everybody but I do love the longer skirt silhouette, this spring it won't only be in fuller skirts but pencil skirts as well."
On the hottest colors for 2014: "Blue, reds oranges and pinks."
Best fashion advice: "Wear what you love and make damn sure it fits properly. Do not be beholden to the number on a size label. Ignore it and wear what fits."
Biggest fashion mistake people make: "They don't wear what fits or what is age appropriate."
On whether she misses "What Not to Wear": "Nope, don't miss it at all. It had its run and it was time to move on. I can't say what's next other than another book, more expansion for Style For Hire and a few other exciting projects. I'm the busiest unemployed person I know!"
